Below are some screen shots showing how I would create a graphic for printing for a 4x4 tile.
I will be using the method described in the
Make a Sigtag and Size it  for the web minitutorial.
For this example I want the printed image to be 4x4 inches square.
I will size my CANVAS workarea to what I want the final image to be.
I will size the CANVAS to 4 inches by 4 inches.

I open a new Work file area or Canvas,

and using Format menu,
I choose to custom size the Canvas to 4 inches by 4 inches.

**if you want to have your graphic a bit smaller to show some edge
of the actual 4 x4 tile, you can size Canvas to something like 3.75 in by 3.75.
and then when you print this image exact size, it should print out 3.75 x 3.75.
Just size your Canvas to whatever size you want "Printed" graphic to be.

I dragged the "Background" graphic, which was in my FILES,
(Files = the graphics I opened or dragged from my Hugbug Browser from the
Debbie Mumm creatable Spooky Harvest) to the 4x4 Canvas in my workspace.
When I dragged the Background of Black with moons and gold stars to this 4x4 Canvas
it automatically "filled" the area in porportion to the sized area.

Next I dragged from the Files, the Ghost >> to the Canvas,
it also automatically sized itself to fit on the work canvas in porportion to it. I can size it down and arrange on the background graphic anyway that I want.
I must select this image from the STACK to apply any effects, using the Selection
tool (little arrow in tool bar - pointing to the left, next to Selection and Stack buttons)
To remvoe the white surrounding the graphic, I select it, shown in this screen shot below, and then select Magic Wand tool, and click in all areas of white, and will press my keyboard delete key to delete the white surrounding this graphic.

Once I have removed the white if I wanted to print out this specific image, which is
4 x 4, I choose from my HP printer (model : deskject 895cse) EXACT SIZE.
Note: the images from this Creatable were created in 300DPI, which is what they
will print out as, this is a good DPI for Printed Images.
**see article links on previous page on making and sizing a sigtag image for the web, for learning about pixels, dpi and resolution of images**

Ok, those were the basics - you can add more to your own graphic compilation before saving and printing it etc.

Below are more screen shots showing how I can add shapes and fill them with the same graphics that are on Canvas and it illustrates, how they automatically size themselves in proper porportion, to fill the new shape.
From Insert menu, I choose Insert Shape and choose a Square shape, then from Effects menu:
I chose, Fill with Texture or Color and on next screen I chose "Picture", then chose from my FILES the background graphic of Black with gold stars and moons.

Next

I added another shape, a circle, stretched it to be an oval and filled it with the
Ghost graphic -

To remove the white surrounding image in oval, I use Select tool, click on this graphic from the STACK
and then select the Magic Wand tool and click in areas of white and then press my keyboard delete key.

Next I added a shape of a Talk bubble, and chose from Effects menu, fill it with Color
and on next screen, I chose More color options, and used the eye dropper
to pick up color from the Pumpkin from Ghost. Then I added text.
**Note: I also applied drop shadow effects to "each" of the shapes I added to this image compilation, by selecting them individually from the STACK and then using Effects menu, then >> apply shadow**

Next I wanted to add a Checked Border around the "Background" graphic of Black with Gold stars and moons. I selected that Graphic from my STACK, then from Effects menu, chose Edges, then Borders
and from Borders I chose Check pattern, then to fit graphic background,
I used Format menu, and chose Crop object to fit Canvas.

**screen shots are out of sequence of steps, but I wanted to show Effects menu
I used to find Edges effect I chose to apply this border.

NOTE:
If  you have an actual BORDER or FRAME graphic in your Files, you can drag that to your background, and it should also size itself to fit Canvas. Rectagle frames would have to be stretched to fit a Square canvas. If there is white in middle of frame, use Magic Wand to select white areas, and press your keyboard delete key.

When I am happy with my image Compilation I can print it out as noted above
as exact size. If I want to Save my work and image compilation for future use
I will save this image as a png format

NOTE:
When opening again any PNG format saved images created using Digital Image Pro,
the parts or graphics that made up my completed image, that were in My
STACK, will be available again, and I can add to, change parts, edit parts,
or delete parts from that image compilation.

I save my image compilations to folders that I create on my computer.
I choose names for them that will help me remember
what they are:
For example I might name this tile graphic : halloween4x4pic01.png
and save to a Folder for Holiday tile graphics.
I would name a folder for these graphics : Holiday4x4pics
You could name or save them anything/anywhere you like,
just Remember to write down on a piece of paper in front of you, what you "Named" the image and "Where" you saved it to (you can save to a separate drive or copy to a cd, etc.)
Date and File your paper in a notebook to save for future reference.

I have also created a similar mini-pictorial example

Here is that final graphic (**resized for displaying on the web**)
One final Important note: when closing out of Digital Image Pro,
the program  may display a message asking
if you want to save changes to the Original graphics you had used
from your FILES (the graphics you opened or brought into Digital Image Pro to use) ,
Always say NO!!
Never change ORIGINAL graphics from your pcCrafter creatables or other collections you have.
Don't change names or file formats on ORIGINAL graphic, always preserve the Original.
You can make copies and change (or not) them anyway you want
and or save as any format, just be sure to "name" them something different than Original graphic name.
